Section
801 Achieves Total Quality Level Performance
Congratulations! The section has achieved the Total
Quality Level of the 2007-2008 Quality Management Process. By achieving the
highest level of the QMP, your section has proven its dedication and
commitment to serving its members and you should feel proud of your
accomplishments. You and your fellow member leaders are making an invaluable
contribution to the Society through your service to your members and to your
community. You have all helped make ASQ what it is today.
Executive
Committee Meetings
Members who are interested in becoming more active in section affairs
are invited to attend the Executive Committee meetings normally held the
first Tuesday of each month.
Actual place and time of the meeting is always posted at the bottom of
the home page.

Quality in Education Books
Available
Dear
Section Members,
I’ve
recently heard from Bob Barkley, a member of our Section and author of two
books: Quality in Education: A Primer for Collaborative Visionary
(available from www.authorhouse.com)
and Leadership in Education: A Handbook for School Superintendents and
Teacher Union Presidents (available from www.kwfdn.org). Bob has donated a copy of each of his
books to the Section. Since
the Section has no physical place of operation, we have no place to house a
lending library of quality-related books and publications. However, these books will be
maintained by the Section Chair for use of the members.
If
you would like to borrow one or both of these books for two weeks, please
contact me at jheston2@columbus.rr.com. In order to minimize the labor and
expense of postage, I would prefer to give the books to the borrowers at a
Section dinner meeting or a Leadership Committee meeting. If you want to borrow a book, please
let me know before the meeting you plan to attend so I will be able to bring
it with me. Also let me know the
meeting or event at which you will return the book when you are finished
reading it. When my term is up
at the end of June, it will be up to the new Section Chair to determine how
to share these resources.
