“Organic
Certification: What it is and what we do”

Presentation: Organic Foods: A description of the
scope, process and procedures required to gain Organic Certification to FDA
Standards.
Bio: Paul Dutter- Grew up in the Central Valley of California on a poultry and almond ranch.
Also, worked on peach growing operations, and on a custom grain harvesting crew
harvesting 12,000 acres of barley, wheat, rice, safflower, milo
and corn. Owned and managed a 60 sow farrow to finish operation along with corn, wheat and
soybeans in Indiana. Spent 10 years in the cattle AI industry as a
sales rep and dairy cattle evaluator in Michigan
and OH, 6 years
with the Dairy Herd Improvement Association.
Owned and operated a broiler breeder (hatching eggs) operation in GA
along with organic vegetables marketed in Atlanta,
GA. Organic Inspector and
Certification Specialist since 2000. Inspected organic operations from
basic vegetable farms to large row crop, egg and broiler operations, small and
large dairies, rangeland beef, milk
processing, soybean processing, meat processing. Currently working with a USDA accredited
organic certifier, working with growers and processors covering a multistate area.

Take
I-270 North to Rt. 161 Exit-East (Dublin-Granville
Road). Stay
on Dublin-Granville Road
through downtown Dublin
and across the bridge and up the hill. La Scala is on
your right across the street from Wendy’s International. The parking lot is accessible from either
traffic light.
East
Take
I-270 West to Sawmill Road Exit. Turn Left (South) and
stay in right lane for a right turn onto Rt. 161 (Dublin-Granville Road). Follow Dublin-Granville Road west.
La Scala will be on your Left and you may turn left
into their Parking Lot at the traffic light before Wendy’s International (which
is on your right) or at the next traffic light.
South
Take
Rt.315 north to I-270. Take I-270 West to Sawmill Road exit.
Turn Left (South) and stay in right lane for a right turn onto Rt. 161 (Dublin-Granville Road).
Follow Dublin-Granville Road west.
La Scala will be on your Left and you may turn left
into their Parking Lot at the traffic light before Wendy’s International (which
is on your right) or at the next traffic light.
